POLICE are urging people to protect their possessions which are inside their vehicles.
Wiltshire Police has asked people who are leaving their belongings in the car to hide them away.
A spokesperson said: “Keep vehicles locked when unattended, even if you’re only going to be a few minutes.
"Register all serial numbers from electrical items and tools with the free national property register.
“Consider marking items with an artificial DNA property marker such as Smartwater or SelectaDNA and use vehicle stickers to lets burglars know that the property inside is marked.”
To prevent any thefts the police has advised that people lock their cars and close the windows.
They have also suggested fitting an alarm.
