WILTSHIRE Police is re-launching its Wanted This Winter campaign to help locate its most-wanted suspects.

The force is appealing for help from the public this Christmas to help locate and arrest people who are suspected of having committed crimes.

A spokeswoman said: "We have identified people who we need to speak to in connection with a variety of crimes, from driving offences to burglary, and, despite our best efforts, they have evaded us so far.

"We will be using social media and the Wiltshire Police's website to publish their photographs, along with a brief description of the offences they are wanted in connection with, in the hope that the general public can help us apprehend them."

Superintendent Adrian Burt, Swindon Hub Commander, added: "We know Christmas is a time of joy and celebrations, but the harsh reality is that there are victims of crime out there who desperately want to see justice done and will only be able to enjoy the festive season when they know their offender has been arrested.

"Searching for wanted suspects and the extensive enquiries which go into this work, costs the police a huge amount of time. Time which could be reinvested in dealing with our other community priorities."

Superintendent Dave Minty, County Hub Commander, added: "That is why you, the general public, are so important.

"You can be our eyes and ears in the community and can provide us with the information and intelligence we need to bring offenders to justice.

"So please, make sure you are following our social media accounts, both for Wiltshire Police and your local Community Policing Team, and see if you recognise the faces of any of the people we are appealing about."

"If you see a suspect then please call 999 and give us a description of them, including what they are wearing and their direction of travel. "If you have other information or intelligence about them then please call our non-emergency number 101.

"Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111."
