A woman in her 80s has been taken to the Royal United Hospital in Bath after being seriously injured in a collision in the centre of Warminster.

Police are appealing for witnesses after the female pedestrian woman suffered head and leg injuries in a collision at around 4pm yesterday afternoon in the Market Place.

The woman, who is in her 80s, was crossing the road when she was involved in a collision with a blue Ford Fiesta.

She was taken to the RUH by ambulance for treatment for a leg injury and a head injury.

The driver remained at the scene and at this stage no arrests have been made.

A police spokeswoman said: "We are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision, or who saw either the pedestrian or the vehicle shortly beforehand, to call police.

"We are also interested in hearing from anyone who has dash cam footage which could assist our enquiries."
