THE Assize Court appeal was given a fashionable boost when Devizes women’s wear shop Spirit held at cat walk show at Wiltshire Museum.

Museum director David Dawson was on hand to thank the women’s fashion shop for raising £300 for the appeal to restore the crumbling Assize Court building in Northgate Street, Devizes.

The fundraising is being organised by the Devizes Assize Court Trust which bought the historic building for £475,000 from elusive businessman Suleiman Dockrat a year ago.

Thecampaign is now trying to raise £10 million to transform the building into a new home for Wiltshire Museum.

Mr Dawson said: “We are very grateful to Spirit and its owner Rose Webster and her staff for organising the fashion show.”
