ORGANISATIONS from across Trowbridge and further afield have been putting the trimmings up for the annual Christmas tree festival at St James’ Church, which is now open.

The festival, showing more than 70 decorated trees, has been open since Tuesday and will run until tomorrow.

It takes place from 10am-5pm today, and until 4pm tomorrow.

Many groups and organisations have been decorating their trees to show the work they do for the people in our community.

These include a charity helping people in need, flower arrangers, youth groups, choirs and many more.

There will be chance for people to talk to one another and have a mince pie and coffee and children will be able to decorate a Christmas tree picture.

Organiser Ros Histed said: “Everyone will be pleased that a joyful Christmas is nearly here and can be celebrated.

“Everyone is welcome and there is always a really nice, friendly atmosphere.”

This year, money raised will be donated to Breakthrough Trowbridge and Stand By Me, both of which help people in poverty.
