PUPILS from 15 Chippenham primary schools showed their speed as they took part in an annual cross country run on Friday.
Hundreds of youngsters in Year 3 and 4 raced around the track of the Crazy Crunchy Christmas Cross Country run organised by Chippenham Sports Partnership. The partnership is made up of organisers from Sheldon, Hardenhuish and Abbeyfield secondary schools.
Jessica Pierce, Abbeyfield school's organiser said: "The Chippenham Sports Partnership loves putting this event on as it is fantastic and it was great to see so many children enjoying the festive 1 mile course.
"Its not about the competitive element - it is about the children having fun, enjoying sport and of course getting ready for Christmas.
"This year as always was another fantastic success and the rain held off!
"Everyone was singing, smiling and just having a jolly good time."
Volunteers from the three secondary schools also dressed up as elves to help guide the youngsters around the course.
