STAFF and pupils at Forest & Sandridge School in Melksham have been named as the top school fundraisers for last year's Elf Day.

Children and teachers donned their festive elf ears, tights and jingly shoes to raise £800 for Alzheimer’s Society.

The charity has named them as the top fundraising school by raising the most money out of any school taking part in 2018.

The national charity event joins thousands of elves around the country together to raise funds for dementia sufferers.

Forest & Sandridge Deputy Headteacher, Mrs Helen Biles-Wood said: “We are delighted to be the highest fundraisers for 2018 across all UK schools.

"All the children thoroughly enjoyed all the activities that the School Council planned for the day but more importantly the children gained a greater awareness of the charity.

"We are so pleased that our event was able to raise valuable funds for Alzheimer’s Society.”

This year's Elf Day was held on Friday, December 6.
