Members of Greenbridge Slimming World have donated 300 items to Swindon Food Collective.

Throughout November and December the 300 strong group took part in a food amnesty, collecting unwanted festive treats alongside other food items and toiletries.

Members gathered at the Co-Op in Cavendish Square to donate the items at the food bank collection point last Friday.

Lisa Watson, Slimming World Consultant at Greenbridge said: “I’ve just been blown away by the generosity of our members.

“We always do something for charity each year to help people who are less fortunate then us.

“It’s really important to do things like this because we are part of the community and this is our chance to give something back.”

Across Swindon and Cirencester 2000 items were donated to food banks by Slimming World groups.

The Greenbridge group meets at Swindon Rugby Club on Tuesday evenings and Friday mornings.
