Swindon Allotment and Leisure Garden Association will hold its Potato Day and Seed Fair next week.

The ‘grow your own’ event at Gorse Hill Community Centre on Chapel Street, will run from 10.30am to 1.30pm on Saturday, January 11.

More than 60 varieties of seed potato will be available for sale in single tube, as well as onion and shallot sets, planting garlic bulbs, fruit trees and soft fruit, and kitchen garden plants, among others.

Non-members of the gardening club are encouraged to attend and admission is free. Tea and coffee will be available.

Shop manager and club committee member Michael Northcott said: “This is a great event open to the public in the middle of winter and we hope many people will come.”

Guests are encouraged to bring their own carrier bags.
