DETECTIVES from CID are investigating a serious assault in Trowbridge.

The incident happened in the early hours of January 10 in the Castle Street area, close to the Kings Arms.

A man and woman were assaulted near to a black Vauxhall Corsa which was parked in the area.

The woman, a local woman aged in her 20s, was treated for her injuries at the scene.

The man, also aged in his 20s, is currently being treated for a serious head injury in hospital.

Det Con James Fry said: “We have already conducted a number of enquiries in relation to this incident and these enquiries remain ongoing today.

“The suspect is described as white, aged in his 20s, wearing a green parka style coat.

“I’d urgently ask anyone who may have information which could help us identify this man or anyone who was in the area at the time to call us on 101.

“As well as this, we’d be really keen to speak to any drivers, including taxi drivers, who were driving through the town at around 12.30 am to 1.30 am on January 10 who may have dashcam footage which could have picked up images of the event.”
