Windows of a number of properties have been damaged in a series of what appear to be random attacks in Warminster and nearby villages.

In every case a single window pane was smashed during the evening or early hours.

The first homes were attacked on December 21 when unknown offenders broke the window of a property on Victoria Road, Warminster. On the same day a window was smashed at an address on Clay Street, Crockerton.

Then on Friday 17 January a window was broken at a house in Chitterne. Then homes in the same village on Shrewton Road, were attacked between the evening of January 17 and the afternoon of January 18.

Also, on the same evening an address on the High Street in Shrewton was targeted, with a window being broken.

PC Graham Briant said: “We are appealing for witnesses to these cases of criminal damage.

“In each case the hole made in the glass was marble sized and could have been fired from a weapon like a catapult.

“There doesn’t appear to be a connection between any of the victims, so we believe these are random attacks.”
