A YOUNG brother and sister inspired their after-school club to raise more than £200 to help victims of Australian bushfires.

Earlyworld in Eynsham raised the money on Friday after the siblings who go to the club revealed that their grandparents were affected by the fires.

After sharing their story with their friends, the club decided to take action.

In total, £226 was raised through a sausage sizzle, cakes, sweets, friendship bracelets and fortune cookies.

Club manager Joanne Chaundy said: “It’s great to be able to support children’s interest and help them develop their ideas.”

The after-school club thanked Eynsham Primary School for the use of its kitchens and everyone else who took part.
