AN election for Royal Wootton Bassett Town Council is just around the corner.

The town council is looking to elect someone for the vacancy for the north ward.

People living in the area will get to vote for who they think should take the spot on February 6.

Heather Edwards will stand for the Labour Party and for the Liberal Democrats Andrew Matthews, of Crosstrees.

Tom Patterson, of Tennyson Road, will contest the vacancy for the Conservatives.

A spokesperson for the town council said: “We have a vacancy in which an election for this post has been called. Residents of north ward will be sent a polling card in the post advising of this election.”

The poll will take place at Lime Kiln Leisure Centre from 7am to 10pm.
