BOYS accused of setting the fire that did thousands of pounds-worth of damage to a Chippenham school are due before Swindon magistrates this morning.
The two boys, aged 14 and 15, have been charged with arson with intent and arson being reckless as to whether life was endangered.
The pair are said to have set the fire on April 15 last year that spread to the roof of Ivy Lane Primary School, off Marshfield Road.
Three fire crews were called when a fire was spotted in a tree in the grounds. It spread to part of the school roof, causing substantial damage before the blaze was brought under control. The fire happened during the Easter holidays.
The older boy, 15, who cannot be identified because he is under 18, has also been charged with stealing lighters and lighter fluid from Wilko in Chippenham and possession of Stanley knife blades.
His co-accused, 14, is also accused of stealing razor blades and lighter fluid from the Chippenham Wilko store.
They are due before Swindon Youth Court this morning.
