Driver gets a cannabis caution

A DRIVER was given an caution for a drug offence after being found in possession of cannabis and released under investigation for drug-driving.

Police stopped the man on Hilperton Drive, Trowbridge, at 11am on Friday after seeing he had a defective brake light.

Minor injuries

ONE person suffered minor injuries in an assault during a disorder in The Parsons Nose, High Street, Melksham, on Saturday. Police were called after an altercation between two people.

Driver arrested

A MAN was arrested for driving with no insurance, driving while disqualified, and taking a car without consent. He was stopped in Sweet Briar Road, Melksham, at 12.34pm on Saturday.

Vehicle damaged

A VANDAL smashed the back window of a vehicle and gouged a hole in the boot near the keyhole. He left a dent in the driver’s rear door of a vehicle parked in Cranesbill Road, Melksham, on Sunday.

Nuisance ride

AN adult and a child were seen riding a Mini Moto bike along the pavement in Queensway, Melksham, on Tuesday February 4 at 2.24pm.

Stone throwing

A GROUP of youths were seen throwing stones at passing cars on the Bath Road, Melksham, at 1.35pm on Monday February 3. One stone hit a car windscreen causing a small chip in the glass.

Tool theft

OVERNIGHT between January 29 and 30 several thefts/burglaries occurred in the rural areas of Warminster, Mere and Gillingham. Thieves stole some tools and garden equipment.

Machine theft

OVERNIGHT between January 29 and 30 in Luke Street, Berwick St John, thieves broke into an out building and stole DeWalt 18v twin pack drill and impact driver set, Stihl strimmer and bush cutter as well as a Husqvarna chainsaw in a maker’s bag.
