A 'SWEET and gentle' Spanish greyhound is looking for a new home in Swindon.

Gary has been living with foster carer Clare Clarke in the town centre for the past two weeks since coming to SNDogs.

Clare said: “He’s lovely, sweet and gentle. He can be a little bit nervous but that’s about it.

“He’s house trained and very good with other dogs. He always wants to go and say hello to them.”

Clare, who has been fostering dogs for over four years, added Gary is cautious of people – but not massively – and that he has been a pleasure to foster.

She added: “He likes to sleep a lot. And he cuddles. He mainly comes up onto the sofa and falls asleep with his head on my lap.

“He likes a little bit of play every now and then but mostly likes to sleep.”

When it comes to outdoor activities Clare revealed Gary actually loves long walks and she believes he would benefit from a calm home with a calm and quiet family.

Anyone interested in giving Gary the Galgo a home should visit sndogs.uk/adopt-a-dog and fill out the application form.

A home check will then be conducted, taking between 30 minutes and a couple of hours, before a decision is made.

After the family has been accepted the foster carer will make contact and arrange a time to meet the dog.

SNDogs runs a foster organisation based in Pinehurst, where homeless and rescued dogs are looked after in a network of volunteer homes rather than being put into kennels.

It asks for a £200 donation for each dog adopted, to help cover the cost of previous care.
