PROSPECT Hospice is hosting its first Kids Starlight Walk on Sunday evening after storms Ciara and Dennis forced organisers to reschedule.

Children will be taking on the 5km challenge at Lethbridge Primary School to raise money for the hospice. Turn up to register at 5pm for a 6pm start.

It coincides with Old Town's Window Wanderland where local residents dress their windows with illuminated displays.

Events and community fundraising manager Amy Francombe said: “We’ve held our Starlight Walk for over a decade now and recently people have been asking if their children could take part.

"Following this interest, we’ve created a much more child-friendly route so that everyone has the opportunity to support the work of the hospice in the local community.

"We can’t wait to see how excited they are when they arrive and are all dressed up, ready to take on the challenge.”

The walk ends in Old Town Gardens where children will be able to explore a number of light installations and also be treated to a mug of hot chocolate and a slice of cake to recharge their batteries.
