A WOMAN was trapped in her car after a crash on the A419 earlier this morning.
One lane of the dual carriageway was closed southbound for more than an hour because of the accident and congestion queued back to the Blunsdon turn-off.
Police, fire engines and ambulances dealt with the incident.
A Wiltshire Police spokesman said: "We were called around 7.40am to a two vehicle accident southbound on the A419, close to the A361 junction.
"A 44-year-old Wiltshire woman was medically trapped in her car. Fire, ambulance and police attended to deal with the incident."
The lane reopened around 10am.
