A BLIND man was punched in the face in an unprovoked attack as he got off a Swindon bus.
The victim, who is in his 60s, was attacked by a woman who is believed to have been shouting at other passengers.
He was travelling on the Number 5 bus in Regent Circus at around 1.45pm on February 8 and was left with an eye injury.
PC Jo Newbery said: “This is a really nasty incident and was completely unprovoked. The victim in the case is registered blind, walks with a stick and was carrying multiple shopping bags at the time and was therefore very vulnerable.
“He was left extremely shaken up and upset as a result of the incident and I would urge anyone else who was on the bus, or anyone who witnessed the incident, to call us on 101 immediately.
"Unfortunately, we do not have any CCTV available from the bus on this occasion but we are continuing with a number of other enquiries to try and identify the person involved.”
