A GALLERY will be hosting popular artist David Inshaw prints at an exhibition.

Artist David Inshaw now lives in Devizes after growing up in Staffordshire. He has many of his paintings in collections including at Wiltshire Museum.

John Parker, from Devizes, is showcasing the prints at his gallery in Corsham.

He said: "We shall be showing a range of his signed limited edition prints, some of which won’t have been seen before and also his greetings cards.

"We are all very excited about this he is held in high regard by artists collectors and critics alike.

"David started in the 1970s where one of his pictures of a badminton match was bought by the Tate Modern. I've been trying to get hold of him to sell his prints. I heard about him when I was a councillor as the curator at Melksham museum knew him very well and put me in touch with him.

The badminton match print was exhibited at the ICA Summer Studio exhibition in London before being brought by the Tate Modern in 1972.

"All the prints are new versions which include a cricket match, an autumn barn with a white horse and lots of trees. Some are very quirky. He has done art collections and private collections all over the world.

A major book on Mr Inshaw's life and work was published in 2010.

The David Inshaw Exhibition will be at The John Parker Gallery on March 19, 20 and 21, coinciding with the artists birthday.

The gallery is having an Eric Ravilious exhibition in April or May but the date has yet to be confirmed.
