THIS week we brought the news to you that shoppers have been urged not to panic buy because of the coronavirus.

Shoppers in Chippenham seem to be ignoring Government advice not to panic buy what they think are essential items, with toilet rolls flying off the shelves in two of the town's major supermarkets this morning.

While the toilet roll aisle at Morrisons on West Cepen Way did have some stock left today, the section for loo paper at Sainsburys on Bath Road was completely empty.

The Government has urged people not to panic and stockpile shopping at home as coronavirus spreads across the country.

Here is what you said on Facebook:

Auto Asylum Swindon Ltd: Too late, Sainsbury’s in Bassett has empty shelves.

Chrissy Bodman: Ridiculous! what's the point in panic buying? People only do it because they don't want anyone else to have it get a grip people.

Terry Buchanan: There is always the possibility that an individual will buy as much shop stock as possible and resell at a higher price.

Vera Hoenen: Bit late for this. People are done panic buying already....

Amanda Boorman: The media should be ashamed, causing all the hype and now telling people to not panic buy. Totally irresponsible.

Laura Matthews: Sainsbury's Chippenham has already been ransacked.

Robin Hodson: Why have people done this? Why? Why? ... Psst, anyone wanna buy some bog roll for £50?

Gary Smith: In my opinion this just causes more alarm and instead of stopping panic induces it.

Heather Durbin: It's annoying I want hand sanitizer for my baby bag. No where in sight I just want one to put in my nappy bag for when out and about.

PEWSEY Vale School is allowing pupils back to school tomorrow (Tuesday) who have just returned from Italy.

Last week the school was branded “highly irresponsible” for going ahead with the ski trip to northern Italy despite the area being a hotspot for the Coronavirus.

A party of children returned this weekend from a week-long trip to the Claviere ski resort in the Piedmont region.

Over the weekend the Foreign and Commonwealth Office stressed that while all British nationals, including those in the quarantined area of Italy, can return to the UK, the advice says those who have been in the lockdown area should self-isolate on arrival back in the UK.

Vikki Adardour: This is awful!!! and if my child went to this school I'd be absolutely fuming...they ignored advice and went ahead with the trip and now they have all gone back to school. This is highly irresponsible.

Lynne Fitter: To whom it may concern, the parents in question, on return of the ski trip, have contacted 111 for advice and have been told that as the ski trip was to Claviere (which is a category two destination) there is no need for self isolation unless showing symptoms. The school and the parents have followed guidelines from the FCO and the Department of Education.

Amanda Wood-woolley: Why is it just the head to blame?? There was more than just Pewsey school that still went skiing . They followed all government and medical guidelines and the parents were still happy to send their children. Italy was still happy to accept all these schools too so who is to blame??

Natalie Robson: There is following advice and there is common sense. Clearly this head teacher is just a paper pusher. No common sense. So if his actions bring the school into an infection zone does that mean he will be sacked as he wouldn't really be able to return as im sure parents of children that could be infected wouldn't allow it.

Amanda Hutchings: Surely common sense should prevail a couple of weeks off school for these students in the great scheme of things is a splash in the ocean. The people taken off the cruise liner in California are having to be quarantined. We should not be flying to Italy at all.Maybe as an old person I shouldn’t have an opinion after all I’m disposable.

Kirsty Price: I don't understand why the parents let them go, surely it's their fault as well.

Mark Wilson: More probably the head wants to go skiing and sod the consequence.

Diane Jackson: Same at cirencester college however not a category two just a one but still silly make sense for the ones who have been to stay off for two weeks.

Claire Stook: Sorry but I think they should of self isolated,as there are vulnerable children adults and the elderly that could get it from these children who have just returned. It will be to late when they show signs of it. Its irresponsible.
