A MAN has been charged with attempted murder following a hit-and-run in Rodbourne Road.
Mohammed Shajeed Ali, 20, of Warneford Close, Toothill, has been charged with attempted murder and will appear at Swindon Magistrates Court tomorrow morning.
The crash happened on March 6 at around 3.30pm outside The Dolphin pub.
A Nissan Juke hit two pedestrians and drove away from the scene. The vehicle was found abandoned a short while later.
A 26-year-old man was taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol where he remains in a life-threatening condition.
The second man, a 31-year-old, suffered minor injuries.
Shortly after the incident, a 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and was released on bail pending further enquiries.
Mr Ali was arrested yesterday and has been remanded in custody.
