School will host leavers’ event despite lessons being cancelled
A SCHOOL will host a leavers’ event for its year 11 students despite lessons being cancelled due to coronavirus.
The Ridgeway School and Sixth Form College has invited its students to a ceremony that will take place tomorrow at 2pm.
Assistant for year 11 Michael Pentelow said: “We want to give these students something before they leave school.
“It’s important to recognise the hard work of our students.”
Year 11 students will receive prices and awards in the main hall.
He added: “It would just be nice to leave on something positive, so they can feel they have completed their time in school.”
The government announced yesterday that schools would be closing from tomorrow amid the coronavirus outbreak.
