Swindon Street Reps have launched a new virtual cafe after concerns about coronavirus led them to suspend their usual free events.
The organisation normally runs a weekly cafe for residents in Penhill, The Railway Village, Toothill and Stratton.
But these have been suspended following government health advice.
The virtual cafe will be hosted on Facebook between 10am-1pm on Tuesdays and 1pm-3pm on Fridays.
Nick Brock, Swindon Borough Council housing participation officer who runs the Street Reps said: “We have had to close our four free cafes while there is an issue with the Covid19 virus and social gatherings. So we have come up with the idea of a virtual cafe to still encourage people to chat, moan, ask for help and to maybe offer help and support to each other generally.
"Anyone can join, the run Tuesdays and Fridays 1pm until 3pm, but you can still comment and chat at any time.”
