DOG walking hotspots and play areas in Chippenham have been sealed as part of the UK’s coronavirus lockdown.

Police tape is in place across the entrance to the car park at Westmead Open Space on the A4 in Pewsham.

It is particularly popular with families at weekends but owners Chippenham Borough Lands Charity posted a sign on Friday which reads: “We urge people to stay local, make use of the open space nearest you and observe the social distancing guidelines from the government.”

At Monkton Park, the play park and multi-use sports court have both been locked up by Chippenham Town Council “until further notice”.
