KEEPING your fitness up can be more difficult in these challenging times.

As part of the country going into lockdown people have been told to stay indoors and only to go out for one exercise a day.

Swindon actor and fitness enthusiast Tommy Hatto said: "It's incredibly important to be active, more now than ever. It's good for your mental health as it stimulates the body and mind."

  1. His first tip is to move in whatever way you can, whether that's going up and down the stairs or going out in your garden.
  2. The second is to stay hydrated because it's good for mind, body and skin.
  3. Next is to take time out for yourself especially if you're inside with other people. You can do yoga or meditate, this will help separate your mind from everything going on.
  4. Tommy says a good way is to follow YouTube workouts whether that's for 10 or 20 minutes you will benefit.
  5. Finally is to eat well, it's easy to make something quick and easy in these times, but eating good food is key.
