Bluebird Care Swindon has launched a recruitment campaign in a bid to encourage more people to join the care sector in response to the coronavirus pandemic.

The care-at-home company’s staff around the town are on the frontline in supporting vulnerable people during the public health crisis.

They have now joined Bluebird Care’s national It’s Time to Care campaign, which is urging people to consider applying for various care roles so they can help more vulnerable people stay well and independent at home.

Bluebird Care Swindon’s managing director Ben Curtis said: “Our services enable customers to remain in their own homes surrounded by the things that matter to them most.

“Despite these challenging times, we need to ensure that we can continue to do this. Now more than ever, we need everyone to come together and lend a helping hand.”

The hardworking team of carers is continuing to support their customers and allow them to be able to remain living safely at home during the lockdown period. The support includes doing clients’ shopping as well as collecting and delivering medicines.

Mr Curtis added: “At Bluebird Care, we can offer a range of rewarding roles, which provide stability and safety. Whatever your skills, we want to hear from you. Full training will be provided.”

The company has created an information toolkit and stepped up infection prevention in response to the growing pandemic.

The kit includes links to relevant sources of information, business continuity advice, advice for customers and staff, and posters that display the correct hand washing techniques.

Staff took infection control refresher courses, the offices are regularly sanitised, and personal protective equipment is well-stocked.

Mr Curtis added: “The health and wellbeing of our customers and staff is our absolute priority. We are confident that all reasonable steps have been taken to mitigate risk to customers and colleagues.”
