UK death toll rises by another record high - more than 680 in a day
THE number of UK patients who have died in hospital after testing positive for coronavirus has soared by another record amount.
The total is now 3,605 as of 5pm on Thursday, according to the Department of Health - up by 684 from the day before.
The previous day’s rise was a further 569 deaths, which took the total to 2,921.
As of 9am on Friday, a total of 173,784 people have been tested of which 38,168 tested positive.
