Two men have been arrested on suspicion of burglary after two high performance cars were stolen during a break-in near in a Wiltshire village.

The arrests follow the night time theft of a blue blue Porsche 911 and a green Audi Avant from Longbridge Deverill, near Warminster.

A police spokesman said: "Following joint investigations between our officers and colleagues at Avon and Somerset Police, the Audi was recovered in Bristol on March 10. The Porsche was then recovered in Frome on March 29. Both cars will be returned to their owners.

"Two men from Frome were arrested by officers from Avon and Somerset Police on March 29. A 23-year-old and 35-year-old were taken in to custody at Melksham Police Station and have now been released under investigation.

PC Becki Mitchell said: "This is a good example of successful joint working with a neighbouring force to retrieve two high value stolen vehicles.

"Thanks to solid investigative work in both police services we have been able to identify the suspects and stolen property."
