A MAN from Devizes was arrested this morning after a police car chase in Calne.
Shortly before 7am, officers were called to Tesco in Beversbrook, following a report that a man had been acting in an abusive manner towards staff. The man had left the scene in a Range Rover.
A description of the man and details regarding his direction of travel were passed to officers who located the vehicle and a pursuit was authorised.
The driver made off at speed around the Calne area before being brought to a stop by a stinger near Mile Elm.
A man in his 40s was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop for an officer and failing to provide a breath specimen.
He is currently in Melksham custody for questioning.
