A TROWBRIDGE primary school has started up it's own food bank - and the Studley Green initiative has proven so successful, it is sending out around 35 boxes of food to families each week.

"At the start of lockdown it became apparent a lot of people would be struggling so we decided to start an in house foodbank at school," said organiser Sarah Hanner. "I started by emailing staff and messaging a handful of friends which had an amazing response.

"My first port of call was Tesco and they have been supporting us most weeks with donations. A colleague who works at Morrisons has asked for support and they are now giving us a donation every fortnight."

Wiltshire Community Fund now supports the scheme,to buy fresh fruit and veg and other items.

"I must mention Active Trowbridge who have been amazing in delivering everything for us throughout the week. Without their help it would have been very difficult for us to manage."
