A 10-year-old from Grange Park has been inspired by celebrity fitness instructor Joe Wicks to go 100 miles in 10 days on a cross trainer.

William Triggs, who goes to Tregoze Primary School decided on his marathon after watching an online class where the star was raising funds for the NHS

His mum Joanne said: “William came up with the idea himself.

“He saw how Joe was raising money for the NHS and that’s where William got the idea from.

“He decided he’d rather do it for cancer research, he’s seen on the news that lots of charities are suffering at the moment and lots is being done for the NHS

“He likes the cross-trainer anyway so he’s going to cover 100 miles over 10 days.

William originally only set a target of £100 and he’s already beaten that with £150, before he’s even started.

Joanne added: “He set the target and he’s now beaten it.

“He was going to do it last week but we went out for a bike ride and he fell off of his bike so we gave it a week.

“He’s really chuffed that he’s over his target already and he hasn’t even started yet.”
