A SWINDON-BASED specialist security firm is deploying hundreds of guards around the UK to monitor and marshal the government's coronavirus testing programme.
SSGC had very little time to arrange a complex cross-agency task which posed a major challenge to the company. Bosses managed to take on more than 500 new security officers, many of whom are former military personnel returning to front line duties as part of the government's brief, which is rolling out across the UK in stages.
Managing director David Stubbs, himself a former military policeman, said: “We are a specialised and ethical security business that is providing vital guarding and marshalling services to the government at this challenging time.”
Since lockdown began, the company's turnover has grown from £5 million to £25 million.
A signatory of the Armed Forces Covenant, SSGC is committed to supporting the military community through re-mobilisation projects.
The company has been supported by its key partners Skipton Business Finance and Squire Patton Boggs solicitors in delivering on the government’s call to action.
