THREE teenagers aged between 15 and 16 have been arrested by police investigating a suspected arson at a Bradford-on-Avon play area.
At around 2.50pm on Sunday, police were called by the fire service to a fire at the Woodland play area in Benjamin Street.
As a result, the playground has been completely destroyed.
A police spokeswoman said: "We believe the fire was started deliberately.
"We would be keen to hear from anyone who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area around the time of the fire."
Three local boys, aged between 15 and 16, have been arrested on suspicion of arson.
They have since been released under investigation while police continue with their enquiries.
Today, Bradford on Avon Town Council, which owns the play area, said: "We are really sad to announce that play equipment at Kingston Wood has been destroyed after a suspected arson attack by a small group of teenagers.
"Firefighters attended the scene yesterday afternoon, putting out the fire which also caused damage to trees next to the play area."
