A potty-mouthed neighbour from hell has been fined for a day-long stream of invective aimed at those living nearby.

Swindon Magistrates’ Court heard Sarah Davis, 50, was made subject to a community protection notice on May 1 banning her from harassing her neighbours on Carpenter Close, Chippenham.

Prosecutor Keith Ballinger said she had already been before the courts once this month for breaching the notice.

And on May 29, police were again called by neighbours reporting that Davis was shouting abuse over the garden fence, swearing and playing the TV loudly.

The swearing continued throughout the day. At one point, Davis was said to have shouted: “If you don’t call the police I will. I’m fed up of you calling the police behind by back.”

Defending, Mark Glendenning said his client accepted she had been playing music but pointed out it had been hot on Friday and she was in the garden with the door open. “She is in her garden making those comments. They’re not necessarily directed at anybody but they are clearly overheard.”

He told magistrates his client said her father “would make good any payment because he is ‘loaded’”.

Davis, of Carpenter Close, Chippenham, pleaded guilty to breaching a community protection notice. Magistrates fined her £80 and ordered she pay £85 costs and a £34 victim surcharge.

Chairman of the bench Maryann Burton said: “Hopefully you understand that order is in place for you not to cause any harm to your neighbours or to healthcare workers or alarm or distress. Hopefully you realise what happens if you do breach.”
