AS lockdown lifts people living near local beauty spots and in towns have reported a rise in the amount of litter strewn on our streets – including, disgustingly, cast-off PPE like facemasks and gloves.

This comes as last weekend police and ambulances were called to the river by Lacock as crowds partied at the popular spot.

Piles of rubbish including empty alcohol and plastic bottles, cigarettes, disposable barbecues and gas cannisters had been picked up by residents – filling as many as four bin bags.

Lacock resident Clive Shipman said: "We have had endless amounts of rubbish most of it being cleared by residents.

"One farmer has had to move his cows out due to eating litter."

What’s the litter like where you live?
