THIRTY secret gardens in Bradford on Avon are being shown online as part of a national 'virtual tour'.
Each one of the gardens is being put online for each day of this month.
The short ten-minute films are the first time in 38 years the Bradford on Avon Secret Gardens tours have gone online.
Each year, the town has hosted a secret garden event, usually on the last Sundays of May and June.
Twenty or more gardens have opened to the public to raise money towards projects which enhance the town.
The organisers, Annette Seekings and Alison Miller, said: “Due to Covid 19 this year is a little different.
"We are opening our gardens virtually for you to visit each day throughout June.
"This year the ‘virtual tour’ will be raising money for local charities.
“We usually sell tickets on two days each summer which allow you to visit each garden.“We would normally do so in person over a day or two but cannot do so this year.
“Sadly, the open days have had to be cancelled this year but Claire Paccalin has volunteered to help it go online instead.
"She’s been filming gardens that normally open up and each day of June, she is posting a beautiful garden on a dedicated Facebook Page.
“They are quite therapeutic to watch and lots of people are enjoying them!
“We’re thrilled to share our Bradford-on-Avon residents beautiful gardens with you. These come in all shapes, colours and sizes.”
This year, virtual tours include a 40-minute film on the Iford Manor garden near Bradford in Avon and the allotments at Sladesbrook.
The patrons of the BoA Secret Gardens are the Bradford on Avon Preservation Trust and Bradford on Avon Town Council.
Tickets cannot be bought the old-fashioned way, so the organisers are asking where possible for small donations to a JustGiving page to help local charities.
So far, the supporters of the fundraising drive have raised £172 towards the £1,000 target.
