THERE has been a real increase in the popularity of cycling over the last few months, with many seeing its benefits as a way to enjoy the surrounding countryside, keep up their fitness or be able to socially distance when travelling to work.

Now Royal Wootton Bassett Environment Group has launched an online travel survey to gather feedback from local people about cycling in the town and surrounding area. The group is interested in hearing the views of walkers, cyclists and would-be cyclists about whether a better cycle network would be welcomed.

Group representative Dave Knight says: "A key objective for us is to encourage and promote cycling and walking in our town and surrounding area. This survey aims to help us understand how you typically get about, where you feel you can or could cycle or walk to and how we could make it easier for you to do this.

"It only takes a few minutes to complete and will really help us plan to be a more cycle-friendly town. We will be sharing the findings with the Wiltshire and Town councils, our local schools and other relevant stakeholders."
