Detectives are on the hunt for a man accused of making lude comments to a woman and touching her inappropriately.

They have released CCTV of the man they want to speak to in connection with the alleged sexual assault, which took place in Sanford Street on April 12.

Police said a woman, 20s, was approached by a man, who made inappropriate comments and touched her.

He is described as Asian, around 5ft 6ins tall, of heavy build, and wearing light jeans and a light grey hooded top with a black shirt underneath.

Local Crime Investigator Veneta Hannibal of Wiltshire Police said: “This was a distressing incident for the victim – although she wasn’t physically injured, it was very frightening.

“The incident was reported to us quickly, and we have been carrying out a thorough investigation, including speaking to local businesses.

“Following enquiries, we now have some CCTV images to release and although we appreciate that they aren’t that clear, we have been unable to get anything of better quality.

“Please, if you recognise the man pictured, or you recognise the description of the suspect, call us to tell us what you know.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Wiltshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
