A man who was airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries following an incident in Alderbury at the weekend has died, police have confirmed.
On Saturday afternoon, a man in his 50s was taken to Southmead Hospital having suffered major burns during an incident in Avon Drive.
Police have today confirmed the man has since died.
His death is not being treated as suspicious.
However, the incident has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct due to police contact with the man prior to his death.
A spokesperson from the IOPC said: "We have received a referral from Wiltshire Police relating to this matter and will make a decision on the level of our involvement, if any, in due course."
