THE children of keyworkers are being offered the chance to join a series of Active Trowbridge kids camps during the summer holiday.

The move is in recognition of the great work carried out by all keyworkers throughout the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.

The Active Kids Camps will be staged throughout August, while also helping and supporting other working parents through the summer.

Hayley Bell, head of service at Trowbridge Town Council, which runs Active Trowbridge, said: “The weekly camps are being run at a great price and offer a range of inspiring activities to entertain, stimulate and educate children aged 4-12 years. The four-year-olds must be attending primary school to take part.

“The activities are run by qualified sports coaches and will take place in local schools in and around Trowbridge.

“These activities are taking place with the generous assistance and support of Clarendon Academy, Wiltshire Council, Wiltshire and Swindon Sports Partnership, Tesco and Unique Signs.”

The Active Kids Camps will be held weekly from Monday 3, 10 and 17 August, from 9am to 3.15pm. Bookings are weekly only as children will be in a bubble.

Active Trowbridge is only taking advanced bookings before July 15 and there will be no opportunity to pay on the day. The cost is £75 per week.

Miss Bell added: “Once booked, no cancellations will be accepted or change of dates. Due to the service we will be unable to refund for any illness or close of the bubble system.

“If we need to close a whole bubble due to illness we will offer additional dates in the future.”
