A NEW drive-in cinema club is being launched in Wiltshire by former Devizes schoolboy Toby Mullins.

Toby, 30, is behind the idea of brings outdoor cinema to Purton House, near Swindon from August 3 to August 9 with a selection of top films for all the family.

He said: "People will be able to relive the magic of the old school American drive in cinema whilst maintaining a safe social distance. All food and drink deliveries will be contactless and will follow COVID-19 guidance and protocals.
"We will also be providing a discounted ticket for all NHS staff for all of their hard work and sacrifice they have made in recent times.
"So people of swindon get nostalgic and brush up on your rendition of Sandy from grease and Abba tunes from Mama Mia because The Drive In Cinema is coming to town. We are offering day time and evening screenings which will show some of the very best films.

"On the line up there will be classics like Grease - Sing Along and The Incredibles which is a perfect day time activity for the kids."

Toby who got into event organising while still at Reading University but has had to come up with a new concept because of the coronavirus emergency.

He said: "We looked at options at which sites and towns could work and so focused on area we felt comfortable in with a larger catchment area.

"So I decided to launch in Swindon as I knew the area well. I knew there was a lot of of farm land and big towns either side.

"We have got in local suppliers to run all the food and drink. It will be a chance to use sites up and down the country that are struggling such as cricket clubs, wedding venues and rugby clubs. We want to support the local communities and independent businesses."
