Three pubs and an Indian takeaway have been forced to close after customers tested positive for Covid-19. 

All four locations, in Burnham-on-Sea, Hampshire and Yorkshire, posted the news on Facebook to update customers and will be contacting anyone who could have been exposed. 

The Lighthouse Kitchen and Carvery in Burnham-on-Sea said on Facebook: "This isn’t the message we wanted to write so soon but The Lighthouse will be closed due to a customer testing positive to Covid-19.

"We are slowly getting through our list of customers that were in the pub on Saturday. All our staff are going to be tested and we will reopen when the time is safe to do so.

"Thanks to all the positive phone calls."

Also in Burnham-on-Sea is Indian restaurant Saagar Indian Takeaway which had to close after a driver was in the same pub. 

It said on Facebook: "It saddens me to tell you all that due to unforeseen circumstances, we are closing Saagar Indian takeaway up until Friday.

"This is due to because one of the drivers has been in the same pub as the person who has tested positive to Covid-19.

"This decision was not made easily, however during these tough times everybody’s health is the number one priority.

"During this period we will be Deep cleaning the whole building to ensure when it is reopened we will be ready to go."

In Dewbury, West Yorkshire, The Fox and Hounds pub announced the temporary closure on Facebook after a customer received a positive test back. 

All staff at the pub have taken a test and are waiting for results with customers being contacted.

The Village Home pub in Alverstoke, Hampshire told customers on Facebook that there was no need to worry unless you had already been contacted or were showing symptoms. 

It added that it hopes to reopen on Saturday.
