A MIDDLE-aged man was left shaken and frightened by an incident in Dilton Marsh where a motorist appears to have deliberately driven at him.

The man in his 50s was getting into his silver Vauxhall Corsa – which was parked on the High Street near to the junction with St Mary’s Lane - at around 1pm on Wednesday, July 1, when a vehicle coming from the Frome direction swerved towards him.

Appealing for witnesses, police said: “The driver was on the opposite side of the road, coming from the direction of Frome, and appeared to swerve across the road.He is believed to have been driving a silver Dacia. Fortunately, the man was not injured but was left feeling shaken up and frightened.

“We believe a silver Volvo was being driven behind the Dacia and we are keen to speak to the driver of this vehicle as they could be a key witness to the incident.

“We also believe an elderly man was walking his dog in the area at the time and may have witnessed the incident.”
