Crews from Swindon, Chippenham, Marlborough and Trowbridge fire stations were called shortly after midday on Saturday to Whites Hill, near Ramsbury.
A paraglider had called for help after becoming trapped in a tree – and stuck an estimated 25-30m off the ground.
The aerial appliance from Swindon’s Drove Road fire station and rope rescue specialists from Chippenham and Trowbridge joined the rescue effort.
A DWFRS spokesman said: “The casualty was given a precautionary check by the ambulance service to assess any injuries they may have sustained.”
