Swindon Town have not made a bid for former-loan striker Jerry Yates, according to Rotherham manager Paul Warne.

UPDATE: Wellens confirms Town have made bid for Yates

Town are believed to be interested in the player with manager Richie Wellens telling BBC Wiltshire two weeks ago that the club would be putting a bid in.

But Paul Warne told the Rotherham Advertiser Blackpool are the only team to have made an offer.

He said: “There might have been a few phone calls, but Blackpool are the only ones to put an official bid in.

"If they reach our technical board’s valuation, then Jerry will be gone, so to speak. In the meantime, he is training with us and training really well. Because of the type of people we are, we will continue to train him as if he’s staying here.

“I’m well aware of the fact there are a lot of clubs interested in him and we’ll see how that progresses. At the moment, the bid hasn’t reached our valuation so he stays with us.

“There has been no bid from Swindon to my knowledge as we speak.”

Yates is on the watchlist of a few clubs this summer after scoring 14 goals in 35 games during his loan spell with Swindon, helping the team win the League Two title.

The Seasiders have reportedly put in a six-figure bid for the striker.
