Blackpool have signed former Swindon striker Jerry Yates from Rotherham for an undisclosed fee.

The striker scored 14 goals in 30 appearances for Town last season as the club won the League Two title.

He joins former Swindon striker Keshi Anderson who also joined the Seasiders last month.

Yates has signed a three-year deal with the option to extend it for a further year.

Only yesterday town manager Richie Wellens told BBC Wiltshire he was confident Swindon's bid for Yates would be accepted and he might come back to the club.

Swindon have now lost three strikers from last season with star man Eoin Doyle heading to Bolton instead of signing a new deal with Town.

Speaking to club media on signing for Blackpool, Yates said: "I’m buzzing to get this over the line and sign for Blackpool.

“I’ve known about the interest for a while now, so to finally be here is a great feeling. This is an exciting Club with a huge fanbase and a big vision for the future.

“I’m ready and waiting to help the Club succeed and I can’t wait for what’s to come.”
