THE number of coronavirus cases in Swindon continue to surge higher with another 29 cases reported today.

This is down from the 33 that were announced yesterday but still a cause for alarm as the town is placed in the top ten for fastest growing number of infections nationwide.

The total number of cases in Swindon now stands at 903.

But there were no new deaths confirmed at the Great Western Hospital, which means the town's death rate stays at 125.

A further six cases have been confirmed in the rest of Wiltshire, bringing the total cases in the area covered by Wiltshire Council up to 1,301.
