A SUSPECTED drink driver crashed into a parked car and a garden fence during a police chase last night.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing a car ‘flying’ down the streets of Bewsey and Dallam, travelling under the railway bridge on Hawleys Lane and along Longshaw Street before swerving onto Southworth Avenue and crashing.

The blue Honda Civic is alleged to have hit a parked car before crashing into the fence of a resident’s front garden.

A pedestrian was seen jumping out of the way of the vehicle and over a fence in order to avoid being hit, with children having been playing in the street at the time of the incident.

Police arrested the driver on Winwick Road a short time later, with a heavy presence reported.

Karolina Grzywaczewska, of Molyneux Avenue in Bewsey, has since been charged with drink driving.

The 41-year-old is due to appear before Warrington Magistrates Court at the weekend in order to face these charges.

A Cheshire Police spokesman said: “At 9.45pm on Tuesday, August 4, police received a report of a drink driver on Southworth Avenue.

“A short time later officers stopped a blue Honda Civic on Winick Road, and a 41-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of drink driving.

“The woman has subsequently been charged.

“Karolina Grzywaczewska, of Molyneux Avenue, is due to appear at Warrington Magistrates Court on Saturday, August 8.”
