A small number of staff at the Ocotal Way Tesco supermarket have tested positive for coronavirus, the chain said.

In a statement, the company said a small number of its employees had been diagnosed with the virus in recent days. Those infected were self-isolating at home.

A Tesco spokesman said: “The safety of our customers and colleagues is our top priority. We have introduced extensive measures across all of our stores to help keep everyone safe, including protective screens at every checkout, social distancing signage and regular deep cleaning.”

No delivery drivers had tested positive for the virus.

The shop remains open.
